Espresso
Espresso is made from special brewing machine. The coffee beans is put in the machine then the water is being circulated with very high pressure. As a result coffee extract came out with water. The result came out from a small hole at the bottom of the machine. All of the coffee beans which remain inside the machine must be wasted and changed with the new one if you want to make the next coffee.
Trivia : the first espresso machine is found by Luigi Bezzera from Italy in 1901. In Italy, espresso is drunk in small cup after have lunch or dinner.

Cappuccino
Cappuccino is the most popular coffee recipe. This coffee has three main composition : espresso, steamed milk, and foam. Cappuccino is one of the most popular coffee dish in the world which has characteristic of foam on thick about more than 2 cm on the surface. According to Wikipedia, this coffee is the most difficult properly served.
Trivia : The Italian people only drink cappuccino in the morning, before 11 o’clock. Meanwhile in other parts of the world, cappuccino usually drink in anytime.

Ingredients:
- 1 double shot of espresso pulled into a cappuccino cup
- Several ounces of foamed milk at about double its original volume (Start with around four ounces of milk to make this.)
Preparation:
Top the espresso with foamed milk right after foaming. When initially poured, cappuccinos are only espresso and foam, but the liquid milk quickly settles out of the foam to create the (roughly) equal parts foam, steamed milk and espresso for which cappuccino is known. Serve immediately.
Macchiato
Macchiato is espresso plus a little bit of steamed milk which is not stirred, but seem just like being ‘precipitated’ on the top of espresso to coating it (because it’s not much). It’s different from cappuccino which is the mixed of espresso and steamed milk, in macchiato steamed milk is function to coating espresso from the air with thin dose.
Trivia : besides a few steamed milk, sometime milk foam is used. It is to marked that the coffee contain steamed milk. This macchiato has a full name Espresso Macchiato.

Caffe Latte
Caffe Latte is not found in Italy, it is a popular coffee recipe in America. Latte is come from Italian language which mean is milk. So, if you order latte in Italian cafes, you will get a cup of milk. Caffe latte (to different it from pure milk), is consist of one-third espresso and two-third steamed milk, plus a few foam on thick 5 – 10 mm on the top.
Trivia : this drink may be simply called ‘coffee milk’ in Indonesia. In France, it is called cafĂ© au lait, in Spain, its name is cafĂ© con leche, and in Portugal, its name is cafĂ© com leite.

Long Black
Long Black is popular in Australia. This coffee is ‘aqueous espresso’, which is made by pouring espresso on the hot water. The hot water first, then espresso. That sequence is intended in order not to undermine the crema on the espresso. This way of making coffee is usually using coffee beans which come from Ethiopia (arabica) and Sumatera.
Trivia : if you put espresso first then the hot water, it is called café americano. The difference of Long Black and Americano is the sequence of serve.

Instructions
- Fill cup about halfway with hot water. The hot water from the espresso machine is commonly used for this, but hot water from another source may be used as well.
- Place the cup of hot water directly under the espresso spout on your machine, or place near your stovetop espresso maker for quick and easy pouring.
- Prepare a double shot of espresso according to the instructions provided by the maker of your espresso brewing device, and allow the espresso to pour into the cup of hot water.
Frappuccino
Frappuccino was created by Coffee Connection in Boston, its copyright then was bought by Starbucks. Its name is come from the combination of frappe and cappuccino. Frappe is a term for thick milk shake. In Starbucks itself available so many of frappuccino variety, included Java Chip Frappuccino.
Trivia: frappuccino variety which is available in Starbucks including Java Chips, Caramel, Mocha, until Raspberry. The big one is usually offered in price ehm… four bucks.
How to make?
Ingredients
- 3 pints of dark roast coffee for the best flavor. (6 us cups)shortened 2 cups
- 1 cup of cocoa powder, plus additional cocoa powder for garnish shortened 0/3 cup
- 2 cups of nonfat milk for best results shortened 2/3 cup
- ice cube tray
Instructions
- Brew dark roast coffee and then pour half of it into ice cube trays and freeze.
- Combine the other half of the coffee in a bowl with cocoa powder and milk. Stir to dissolve the cocoa. Cover and chill.
- Wait till the ice cubes freeze, then put them in a blender and grind them but not too much. You can also crush the ice cubes with a hammer or mallet.
- Fill 4 glasses with the crushed ice and divide the coffee-cocoa mixture evenly among them. Dust the top with cocoa powder, put a straw in them and serve.
Tips
- You can top off this drink with whipped cream for a nice touch.
